The following information will help you prepare a newsletter for your technical division. If you have any questions or suggestions to this process, please contact your division staff support administrator. Newsletter Requests
The Newsletter request should come from the Newsletter Editor, Technical Division Chair or a member of the Executive Committee.
If the division wants to order pictures from previous IMECE for the newsletter, a request should be sent to your division staff support. Please order photos in a timely manner.
Submitting a Completed Newsletter
All newsletters should be provided to your division staff manager and administrator as web-ready. The newsletter should be in PDF format and the images (if any) within the PDF should be optimized for web use (low resolution, JPEG or GIF format).
For those newsletters that are being PRINTED and MAILED, an additional copy of the newsletter should be provided in MS Word. All pictures should be in TIFF format (high resolution.)
Please note: A mailing is done only if the Technical Division Executive Committee requests to do so.
Sending Your Newsletters to Division Members
Once the newsletter is received, your division staff support will post it to your division's website. All division newsletters are posted under the News and Information section.
At that point, a mass e-mail can be sent to primary and secondary members of the division directing them to newsletter online. Some divisions prefer to arrange this mass mailing with their staff support, while others prefer to send the notification themselves using the online roster/list serve.
A printed mailing is done only if the Technical Division Executive Committee requests to do so. For those divisions who choose to mail a newsletter, a sample estimate of printing is as follows: Eight pages 4/4, 8 ½ x 11, including electronic prep, tabbing and ink-jetting:
250 copies - $1,733.00 500 copies - $1,775.00 1,000 copies - $1,860.00
Postage is additional
